Hello, Frank Goita here.
Self-taught Artist out of Ottawa, Ontatrio, Canada, with a passion for entertaining content. Dating back to the moment I first saw Astro boy off a VHS tape my father had put on for me and my older brother( Yup, I'm a player 2 guy :P). It made me aspire to one day become a director for my own content. Currently focused on 2 Personal Projects, and a collaboration.
A little bit about myself.
I don’t quite remember what age I was when cartoons, and films started taking over my brain, but what I can tell you is that it was a combination of... Zorro, Batman, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Astroboy, and martial art films to keep it brief.
I started getting into comic books in elementary school.
French titles such as Tintin, Lucky Luke, Boulle et Bill, and
last but not least Dragonball. I was soon to find out that
Dragonball wasn't originally french. This is when I discovered
manga, and anime. I appreciated the more mature content
that was present in these foreign properties.
This was also a time where it felt like winning the lottery when
I managed to watch a "HK films" martial art flick. Those are still
the best movies to this day! Near the end of middle school I stumbled
upon Shaman king while browsing the net. This series had a fundamental
impact on the man I was going to become. Reading that story is what
made me decide that someday I would make my own content, that I would
learn to draw no matter how long it takes.
Fast forward to the days of high school, which I will call the Champloo Era.
A very special moment in time. Being a fan of Ninja Scroll, I was mesmerized by
how grounded and mature it was. The hip hop influence, Nujabes (RIP), the designs,
the writing… All of it culminated into a masterpiece. It really opened my eyes to the
potential of animated content. Near the end of high school is when I discovered the
more influential properties. Karas, F7 Advent Children, Apple Seed, Tenggen Toppa Gurren Laggan,
and Sword of the Stranger, just to name a few. Having acquired a deeper appreciation and
understanding of what goes into creating animated content,
my focus would soon change to animation.
Mad house, Gainax now known as Trigger, Studio Mir, and Bones are some of my favorite Studios.
The list of people I admire would be something like this...LeSean Thomas, Chase Conley,
Shawna Mills, Takeshi Koike, Tite Kubo, Shinichirō Watanabe, Yoshihiko Umakoshi.
Yoh Yoshinari, and Hiroyuki Imaishi. All these individuals made me start taking animation a
a little more seriously, but I had other concerns in life that needed attention.
To be continued...
(Well that's it for now. I will keep you all posted on my journey as I feel it truly begins now. I had a lot to learn, and now feel like I'm at the level I need to be in order to deliver content I feel worthy of sharing.)
Thank you for taking the time to read this little description of mine, and just checking out the site in general. I hope my work was enjoyable.
Peace peace, stay blessed everyone.
